The Data Analyst collects, reports and analyzes data to be used for both internal and external purposes in support of the department. This role builds diverse, accurate reports using large amounts of financial and clinical data. This role also queries, summarizes, and presents data using a variety of software applications.

The Data Analyst conducts problem solving and ongoing evaluation of data elements for utility, data integrity, and quality through analysis and interpretation. This position makes presentations to medical center leadership, project teams, and external groups.

Experience REQUIRED:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a health care and/or IT role
Minimum 2 years of experience collecting, querying, reporting, analyzing, and presenting data using applications such as reporting tools, databases, spreadsheets, word processing, presentation, and graphics software.

Experience PREFERRED:
Previous experience in academic medical center Previous project management knowledge and skills Experience with statistical analysis software/tools
Previous experience with Cognos or other financial management programs
Comprehensive knowledge of the Cerner (Electronic Medical Record) data model

Education/training REQUIRED:
Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Information Technology, Nursing, or related clinical or Information Systems discipline from an accredited program, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Education/training PREFERRED:
Coursework in statistics Masters degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Information Technology or related clinical or Information Systems discipline from an accredited program.

Independent action(s) required:
Must be able to work autonomously and manage/prioritize multiple tasks.

Some after hours and weekend work and/or flex scheduling will be required to meet deadlines.
